At the time Vlasic signed the contract no one thought it was a bad signing. Most everyone thought he was going to age well since his game was mostly iq and great situational awareness.

We (and some others) didn’t like it at the time, because what little footspeed he had was necessary to get him into position to use his stick and iq and of course footspeed is one of the things players lose as they age.
